Trash Pickup (Mondays and Thursdays) The City does not pick up trash that is inside a trashcan of any type. If you want to discard an old trash can, be sure to tape a sign to it that states "Discard Trash Can". All rubbish must be placed in a bag and put out at the curbside by 8 a.m. on the regular scheduled pickup day and removed/stored out of public view by the end of the day. 
 
Days with No Trash Pickup - All city offices and services will be closed on holidays, meaning there will be no trash pickup. The City of Deer Park observes the following holidays each year: New Years Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The regular operating schedule will resume on the first business day following the holiday. If you have an emergency during this time, please contact the Police Department at 281-479-1511.
 
Heavy Trash Day Every Wednesday is reserved for heavy trash pickup. Occasionally, the volume of heavy trash will require more than one day to service the whole city. In this case, the remainder of heavy trash will be picked up by Friday.
 
Recycling - The City of Deer Park now offers single-stream recycling at the transfer station! Residents can recycle their paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and metal cans by dropping them all into one single bin. Sorting your recyclables is no longer necessary. When you recycle, be aware that food waste, plastic bags, and polystyrene foam cups and containers are not acceptable. Improper recycling can slow down the process or even ruin an entire load of recyclables. The Transfer Station is located at 610 Old Underwood Road (at the intersection of East X Street & Old Underwood) and is open Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. thru 6 p.m.

Garage Sales -It shall be unlawful for any person to conduct a garage sale in the city without first filing with the city the information specified in this article and obtaining a permit to do so, which permit shall be known as a garage sale permit.  Such permit shall be issued to any one person or location only once within a six-month period, and no such permit shall be issued for more than ten consecutive calendar days. Each such permit must be prominently displayed on the premises upon which the garage sale is conducted throughout the entire period of the permitted sale.
